This panel was designed by Andrew Crummy for the Great Tapestry of Scotland Visitor Centre in Galashiels. The design was based on ideas from schools across the Scottish Borders and features five figures against a backdrop of the rivers of the Scottish Borders.

Stitching of the Welcome Panel was initially disrupted by COVID lockdowns but was completed in 2021 and over 1,000 people were eventually involved in the project.
