Volunteering with The Great Tapestry of Scotland was Susie’s introduction to embroidery. She initially helped to trace designs onto the linen panels and sort the wool. She later began stitching and contributed to two panels: Shinty and Curling, panel 103, and Fair Isle, panel 126.

My dad in front of the shinty and curling panel at the first GTS exhibition at the Scottish Parliament in September 2013. Dad’s tartan was the inspiration behind the middle shinty player’s kilt and the colours of which were included in our new logo.
